A Pinch and a Punch - it's July already!!

Posted by Angharad Underwood on

A pinch and a punch - happy July everyone!
Wimbledon, the Tour de France, the Euros - it's all go and the Summer holidays are in touching distance too! These delicious cocktails and mocktails are just the ticket.

Wimbledon, is officially the start of the British strawberry season and our Strawberry & Proisecco Jam makes a delicious addition to an afternoon tea or make a Strawberry Mojito.

To make a jug -
A bunch of Mint, save a couple of leaves to garnish
Juice 2-3 limes
1 ltr of Soda Water or spakly water
2-3 table spoons Strawberry & Prosecco Jam
2 - 3 measures of White Rum
Ice

Muddle the jam, mint and the juice of the limes in the jug. Top with rum and soda water, pour over ice filled glasses and top with a fresh strawberry and a mint leaf. Sit back and enjoy.
(Can also make it a delicious mocktail too - just leave out the rum.).

Or how about the lovely The Secret Garden Cocktail, by Andy Stoneley, formerly of The Whitebrook.

.

50ml of our Blackberry Bramble Sirop
Juice of a Lime
Bunch of Mint
Ginger Ale
Ice

Muddle the mint & lime juice in a tall glass, add some ice, a large dash of our Blackberry Bramble Sirop and top with a good ginger beer - Summer sorted. Add a large gin or vodka too, we won't judge you!

Our Cookalong Club is going from strength to strength. We're working with our second school and have 2 more ready for September. We've had children tasting foods, being creative with recipes, cooking for their neighbours and last night we had 2 homes that turned into full on pizzerias!! #kidscancook.

If you'd like to cook with your children or want to get a student ready for life without you (it really doesn't have to be pot noodles) then give us a call, we can arrange a small group hands on session or even a remote zoom class.
